As the name implies, it was founded in 1911–which means their roots go all the way back to the pre-prohibition era and is inextricably linked to the history of Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards. The latter, founded by two apple farmers, George Skiff and Porter Beak has a simple, albeit ambitious–goal: to grow the finest apples in New York State. Their vision ultimately flourished to become one of the most prominent orchards in Lafayette New York. And through the years, the expertise and experience required to grow and harvest the best apples in the region got passed down generation after generation.

In the early 2000s, with the fifth generation already at the reins, a new idea was born: transforming their beautifully grown apples into exceptionally crafted spirits.

Craft spirits is an incredible art unto itself, and guided by the same attention to quality, respect for tradition, and eye for innovation that drove Beak & Skiff Orchard’s success, they built 1911 Established.
